Espoir, also known as the The Ship of Hope, is a ship owned by the Teiai Corporation.

In the series the ship is used as a gambling location for those who are in debt with the corporation. It is rumored that those who lose in this gamble are forced into manual labor for years. The ship being the means of transport to these manual labor camps towards the end of the night.

This is where Kaiji had his first gamble in the series with a game of Restricted Rock, Paper, Scissors.
