Dawson is a convenience store based on the convenience store franchise Lawson located in Japan.
This is the place where Kaiji Itō worked after the events of Espoir and before the night at Starside Hotel.
Description
Dawson is an ordinary convenience store. The employees wear a blue uniform.
The store has a room where the employees can take a break, and where the Manager usually works. It has a TV which displays footage taken from the surveillance cameras.
History
Kaiji worked at this place after surviving the night at Espoir. He hated working there because the hourly pay was 900 yen per hour, and because he was assigned to the worst jobs like taking out the trash and cleaning the windows.
The night Kaiji was invited to participate in a gamble at the Starside Hotel, he quarreled with his manager because the latter lost an envelope with 100,000 yen in it. The Manager accused Kaiji of stealing the envelope, after which Kaiji proposed a gamble, in which the manager had to pay Kaiji 1,000,000 yen if he didn´t find the envelope in Kaiji´s bag. This enraged Kaiji, which almost led him to beat up the Manager, until Sahara came to take Kaiji outside. It turns out that Sahara stole the envelope and hid it in Kaijis bag. He quit his job there after Endou invited him to the Starside Hotel to participate in the events there.
